Matthew Smaglik is a filmmaker, producer, and writer based in New York City, and a member of the Television Academy and Producers Guild of America.

In television, he most recently story-produced Wyatt Earp and the Cowboy War for Netflix and has written and produced series such as Titans: Rise of Wall Street, Icons That Built America, and Cars That Built the World for History. His credits span more than ten series with leading production companies including Stephen David Entertainment, Left Right, Blackfin, Six West, Warm Springs, and Magilla.

In features, he co-produced Thirst Streetpremiered in the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival’s U.S. Narrative Competition and was distributed by Samuel Goldwyn Films. He began his feature career with Dogfish Pictures on Diverge, and went on to produce Noble Earth, Sweet Parents, Senior Love Triangle and Espina.

In digital media, Matthew has collaborated with the United Nations on the design and launch of the DPPA’s annual report, leads the creative direction of the documentary initiative, The Nonfiction Hotlist, has developed interactive educational tools for Massachusetts General Hospital, and produced Youtube's annual global livestream Escape 2021.

With a strong interest in international storytelling and co-productions, Matthew has participated in IFP Film Week, the Trans Atlantic Partners program, the Frontières Film Financing Forum in Amsterdam and presented at the Frontières Platform at the Marche Du Film in Cannes.
